I have a 3 year old son, Nic. He loves watching the movie "Frozen." We probably average at two viewings of this movie a week. His favorite character is Olof. I have to say Nic has good taste in characters because he is my favorite character in the movie. I find humor and deep meaning in his lines, and I love his song, "Summer."

Olof, as funny as he is through out the movie, has several powerful and memorable moments. My favorite moment is when Olof is trying explain "Love" to Anna. During the scene, Olof brings Princess Anna close to the fire so she can warm herself. Anna tells Olof that he'll melt standing to close to the fire. Olof says, "Some people are worth melting for."

This scene is a pretty powerful scene that has meaning to work and life. In my work place, being an assistant principal, building relationships and trust are vital to sustaining a positive school culture. Teachers need to know that you care about them, that you can help them, and that you are trustworthy. To me, that's what love is. Are you willing to sacrifice, give, and express to your faculty that they are worth melting for? The same goes for life. We meet people throughout our day who need a smile or a word of encouragment. We have close family and loved ones that we love and care for. How much love is in your heart to show that you care about them and that you can help them?

Sometimes, we need to really look for great take aways from movies so that we can apply them in your daily life. Thanks Olof for bringing in the focus how important relationships are in the world.
