ABOUT ME

I have invested 17 years in the educational system.  The first 7 years, I served as a junior high band director, and the remaining 10 years, I have served as an assistant principal to elementary and middle schools.

My family and I made the decision to move from Mississippi to Texas in the summer of 2015.  We settled in Magnolia, Texas.  We both work for the Magnolia Independent School District.  I am the assistant principal for Nichols Sawmill Elementary, a PK through 5 campus.  My wife is an English teacher for Magnolia Junior High School.  We have a 6 1/2 year old son, Nic, who attends Bear Branch Elementary.  This January, we welcomed to our family Molly Grace, born 1/4/2018.

I enjoy reading and listening to books on tape.  When I'm not reading books on leading others, my favorite genre is historical fiction.  I am also submerged in the Word.  I achieved my 2017 goal which was to read the Bible completely in chronological order.  I tweet a daily devotion if you are interested.  #dailyDwme

In my spare time, I enjoy playing bass guitar for "The Charlie Riley Band."  I enjoy playing with this group and sharing my love for music with the Magnolia community.

I am a huge fan of college sports and professional sports.  When I was in Mississippi, I officiated high school basketball and baseball games.  Maybe one day, I can return to the field or court as a Texas official.  The best part of my day is spending time with my wife and my family.  We love to play outside, ride bikes, cook, and play board games.

James Comer says that  "no significant learning occurs without a significant relationship."  Life is about loving, trusting, and serving.  My purpose in life is to teach, train, and equip you with the skills God has gifted you so that you can discover and share your greatness with those around you.
